Bill Catlette and Richard Hadden.
After graduating from the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida, in 1973, the Charleston, West Virginia native worked in a variety of Human Resource management and executive capacities with some well known and regarded service distribution firms. His corporate ports of call have included assignments with Genuine Parts Company, the Atlanta-based distribution arm of NAPA; Automatic Data Processing, where he served as the company's Corporate Manager of Employee Relations; and Federal Express Corporation; where, as a Managing Director, he and his staff were responsible for developing many of the Human Resource programs which enabled that company to become recognized as one of the nation's 5 Best Managed Companies (Forbes), one of the 100 Best Companies in America to Work For, and, without question, one of the true "world class" service organizations. Upon leaving Federal Express in 1989, Bill founded The Westar Group, a human resources consulting firm which concentrates primarily on the areas of Employee Relations, Teamwork, Leadership Development, and Business Strategy. With better than 5,000 hours addressing business leadership groups, Bill is an accomplished speaker and seminar leader. Bill considers himself an excellent sport fisherman, a mediocre (but enthusiastic) tennis player, and a washed up golfer. He lives in the Memphis, Tennessee area along with his wife, Mary, and their two children.
After earning a management degree from Jacksonville University, in Florida, in 1979, Richard managed a branch of a large savings and loan association and then decided to change fields completely and learned computer programming. He received his M.B.A. in International Business from the University of North Florida and worked as a programmer, systems analyst, and software designer for multi-user microcomputer systems, before the widespread popularity of PC’s. He was Director of Product Development for a software house in North Florida before starting his own systems consulting business. While consulting, he taught software design, principles of management, and international economics at Jacksonville University. He began working as a trainer and consultant to corporations and left the university in 1991. Richard writes business columns on People and Profits for the Washington and Jacksonville Business Journals. Since that time, Richard Hadden has delivered more than 200 workshops and keynotes throughout North America and has made many other presentations to corporate and association meetings. A few of his clients include American Express, Florida Power Corporation, Printpack, Abbott Labs, and Johnson & Johnson Vision Products. He has earned the Certified Speaking Professional (CSP) designation, the highest earned designation in the speaking industry, conferred by the National Speakers Association, and held by fewer than 7% of its members. Richard and his wife, Christine, live with their two children in Jacksonville, Florida which, of course, was formerly known as Cowford. Contact Richard at Richard@contentedcows.com
